As a starting player, clearing "Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Concurrent Story" and "All Star Tips" will already give you around 400 Star gems adding to the 100 Star gems pre-added on to your account when you start playing. Enough to start a 10x pull.
What banner to pull off?
If you just start playing and at the same Party or Festival banner is available, pull that banner until you get the featured character. But if you lack some luck, I keep on rerolling until I get the desired character.
Or if no party or fes banner is available, choose the event banners amd go for some strong cards like initial Kanan.
With the sync-up of the Global and JP, 10x gacha ticket where given to every player. This could help you even more to gain URs.
