(Notes: This is one where you've probably seen a chatracteror two before but you've never seen the show. Well, I'm here to officially recommend it. And I haven't mentioned this before but i get the story/synopsis from MyAnimeList since... I'm bad at summarizing things. I'll go off on a tangent and add irrelevant crap. Anyway, did you know this series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix in 1990? AND it's Studio Gainax's FIRST ever anime. Remainder: Gainax is responsible for Neon Genesis Evangelion, Royal Space Force, Gunbuster, Kare Kano, FLCL, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Gurren Lagann, Corpse Princess, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Medaka Box and Re: Cutie Honey. I like this one. It's cozy, charming, fun and the story and characters are great. Again, retro anime art style is peak. 10/10. This show needs way more love. So check it out if you can. It's on Crunchyroll, Sling TV, Apple TV, Vudu, RetroCrush i think [BTW RetroCrush is a free service that let's you watch old/classic/retro anime. This utopia is the sole salvation for the remnants of life in this barren land, but the legend also dictates that only wolves can find their way to this mythical realm. Though long thought to be extinct, wolves still exist and live amongst humans, disguising themselves through elaborate illusions.
A lone wolf named Kiba finds himself drawn by an intoxicating scent to Freeze City, an impoverished town under the rule of the callous Lord Orkham. Here, Kiba discovers that wolves Hige, Tsume, and Toboe have been drawn in by the same aroma. By following the fragrance of "Lunar Flowers," said to be the key to opening the door to their ideal world, the wolves set off on a journey across desolate landscapes and crumbling cities to find their legendary promised land. However, they are not the only ones seeking paradise, and those with more sinister intentions will do anything in their power to reach it first.)

Wolf's Rain is a banger. Another classic really. I'd say it's a high tier anime in my opinion; characters, world building, animation, it's great. Check it out. I mean, if you like wolves maybe you already know about it lmao. I was trying to think of a wolf pun but I'm not subjecting y'all to that. One day, a man named Kaiba wakes up in an empty room with no memories, a mysterious hole in his chest, and a locket holding the picture of an unknown woman. (Notes: Bruh this is trippy but in a good way. a GREAT way actually. This show is actually amazing. A true gem and another banger from MADHOUSE. It was directed by Masaaki Yuasa. You may be familiar with his other work, Masaaki Yuasa is a Japanese director, screenwriter, and animator affiliated with Science SARU, a Japanese animation studio which he co-founded with producer Eunyoung Choi in 2013. Recognized for his idiosyncratic art style and directorial voice, Yuasa began his career as an animator on the landmark television series Chibi Maruko-chan (1990–1992) and Crayon Shin-chan (1992–present), before moving into directing with the feature film Mind Game (2004) and developing a cult appeal following.
Yuasa spent much of the 2000s and early 2010s working in television directing, helming a trio of series, Kemonozume (2006), Kaiba (2008), and The Tatami Galaxy (2010), before releasing the crowdfunded short film Kick-Heart (2013).

(Notes: This was one of those Netflix Originals that no one really brings up. It had mixed reviews but i think it was nice. And it's super short so a viewing isn't gonna hurt anyone. It definitely isn't perfect but i love the animation and art direction and i personally think the cast is very likeable. The story isn't overly complicated and it doesn't need to be. It's simple and a nice time passer. Despite its flaws, I'd recommend taking a look at it. I feel like it was kinda forgotten. It isn't the best but i think it's fun.) Read Note

Because her aunt wants to inherit the Mikamo family's wealth, she gives Chiko poisoned food. One day, however, she's kidnapped by the Nijuu Mensou (20 Faces) and decides to join his clan.)

(Notes: Now this one is criminally underrated. I do not know how this one didnt catch on when it first came out. One of the Anime Studios behind it was Studio Bones! Y'know the same animation studio that had a hand in/was behind Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Soul Eater, My Hero Academia, the Noragami series, Mob Psycho 100, Bungou Stray Dogs, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Darker than Black, Kekkai Sensen, Gosick, Eureka Seven, Sk8 the Infinity, etc. So im super surprised this show didnt get bigger tbh. Krilancelo, a young magician at the Tower who cared greatly for Azalie found much to his disgust that the elders of the Tower of Fang were less than willing to save Azalie and wanted rather to pretend the accident never happened. Angered by their stand, Krilanceloa swore that he would find a way to return Azalie to her former self. Thus he forsook the name Krilancelo and declared himself Orphen, leaving the Tower and his magical studies behind to wander the world...)

(This is a unique one. I actually like the way it's animated and it feels like a really underrated movie. Fun fact: This anime was directed by Michael Arias who was the first non-Japanese director of a major anime film. The anime studio behind it is Studio 4°C who are behind the original Berserk anime, Mind Game, and the Animatrix. Also, i dont understand people hating the designs for not being 'cute' or 'kawaii' enough. That is such a limited mindset in terms of character design. You're allowed to like or dislike whatever you want but don't be afraid to keep an open mind. I personally think they're unique but if you don't like it that's cool. I believe this is still a great movie in my opinion.)

(Story: About 800 years ago, monstrous demons attacked and threatened mankind's existence; while at risk of being extinct, all the humans began praying to their respective gods, hoping for someone or something to save every one from the brink of destruction. With their prayers answered, a race of deities called the "Idaten" were created; by using their utmost endurance and powerful god-like abilities the Idaten managed to defeat the demons, saving humanity and bringing peace to the entire world. Now in the present time, the newer generation of the Idaten know little about the demons since they've all lived peaceful lives. Training under Rin, the only remaining original Idaten from 800 years ago, the new Idaten find ways to survive in a time where they have seemingly outlived their usefulness. Suddenly, when the tyrannical Zoble Empire resurrects a demon, the misfit warriors are called to the battlefield against their natural enemy once more.)

And the OP and ED of this one are bops too. Also warning you: the villains are irredemably gross like... Hisoka and Redo of Healer level gross if you catch my drift. (Notes: I kinda love these designs and this art style. It's unique and refreshing. This is a pretty good show in my opinion. Kinda flew under the radar but the few people I've seen who know about it seem to agree it's good. The anime studio behind this one is White Fox. You may not know them by name but you may have seen of or heard the other shows they've worked on such as Akame Ga Kill, Steins; Gate, Re:Zero, The Devil is a Part Timer, Arifureta, Jormungand, etc. Oh, and Katanagatari was originally created by Nisio Isin. Yes, the same person behind Monogatari, Medaka Box, and Bishounen Tanteidan; a show I've recommended here before. Also i really like these OPs lmao) Read Note

Dying, the mortally wounded king sends his daughter Alita to find Prince Kaito, who is leading a diplomatic mission and its military escort abroad. She flees from the castle and reaches a forest on the country's border.
While running, the princess falls off of a cliff and onto Falis, an infamous female bounty hunter. Due to the nature of the near-death experience (referred to as a spiritual commutation, or spiritual transmigration in the anime dub) the souls of Alita and Falis are switched. After Falis dispatches the forest's guardian beast, Alita pleads with the bounty hunter to protect the Forland kingdom, offering herself, body and soul, as collateral. Falis agrees and acts as the princess of the Forland Kingdom with her bounty hunter friends.)

They also animated/animated Attack on Titan, Kakegurui, Chainsaw Man, Dororo, Yuri on Ice, Banana Fish, Dorohedoro, Takt Op Destiny, Vinland Saga, Zombieland Saga, The God of High School, Dance Dance Danseur which was one of the first anime i recommended, etc. Also, these character designs are great. There's something about anime characters designed with actual visible lips that i love idk why i think they look great that way)

(Notes: Another cool one i found on a trailer in that old Sailor Moon DVD i used to watch all the dang time. This one is based off of a manga created by the legendary Leiji Matsumoto, may he rest in piece. Matsumoto was famous for his space operas such as Space Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999. His style was characterized by mythological and often tragic storylines with strong moral themes, noble heroes, feminine heroines, and a love of strange worlds and melancholic atmosphere. You may have seen his art style at least; emulated by shows like Steven Universe. Blue Diamond's design is obviously heavily influenced by his art style and i remember it being confirmed as well. The widow of Matsumoto, Miyako Maki, is also a Japanese manga artist, and one of the earliest female manga artists. During the 1960s, Maki contributed significantly to the development of shōjo manga (manga for girls), and became one of the most popular shōjo authors of her generation. He does not hesitate to abuse the needs of people, sell out his friends to save himself, run away from any dangers, or ditch others who helped him if he does not have any more interest in them. His life starts to change when he finds a magical Genie named Djinn who wants to grant him three wishes. While people would benefit from having three wishes, in his case it leads him to a lot of trouble, and it doesn't take long before he tries to escape from Djinn, and every other person he meets.
Other important characters are the Old Seer, who constantly appears out of nowhere, seemingly only to make Gokudo suffer more; Rubette La Lette, a noble girl with a tomboy attitude who sees Gokudo as a rival; and Prince, a mage much better at handling women than Gokudo will ever be.)
