(Notes: Okay. The episodes are really short and the series is super short but in that short time; I'd say the experience was worth it. I know CGI anime is usually not well-liked but give this one a shot. You can tell they tried to put effort into it. The music is great. I love the designs and the ideas amd plot are creative. ArtisWitch is a collaboration project between Sunrise and Japanese talent agency AsobiSystem that features Harajuku art, fashion, and music. And y'know, Sunrise is the same anime studio behind Cowboy Bebop, Gintama, Code Geass, Love Live, Inuyasha and a few other iconic anime. Oh, and you can find ArtisWitch's episodes on YouTube along with music videos and PVs for the series. It's alot of fun. And Ruru and Haruka are best girls sorry. We also adore Akihiro in this household lmao. But Nina is great too I can't deciiiide and the FASHION oh my lord i can't stop gushing about this showww. I'd also call this Magical Girl adjacent. Sorry. It's the law. I say it counts. lmao. There's so much more that can be done with this one. I wish there was more of it if only for the characters alone. I'd love to see a 2D animated interpretation but it looks good as it is too. And also, the Artiswitch YouTube channel itself has some other cool things in it too. The other music videos are so pretty and well done too! So maybe check that out as well. The characters; the messages, etc. This series, franchise, whatever it is; it needs more love. And the episodes are so short so...lemme just put the first episode below the PV down here for y'all if you're interested! And a few PVs for a Music Video project they did awhile back! Be sure to check out the channel if you want more!) (Story: It is the year 2046, Noboru Terao and Mikako Nagamine are close friends who will soon be graduating junior high school. But after an alien attack on humanity, Mikako is selected for the UN military space expedition set to retaliate against the aliens. Separated, Noboru and Mikako attempt to keep in touch by sending emails to each other with their cell phones. Yet as the expedition journeys farther from Earth, the time it takes for them to transmit and receive each other's messages increases substantially.
Hoshi no Koe revolves around the relationship between this couple as they try to stay connected despite the growing distance between them.

(Notes: Well, this is a short film. Not too long but i don't think it wastes the short time it's given. For how short it is, it is a little heartbreaker. Some CGI is outdated but other than that, it's not bad. The dub..isnt the best for this one. And I'm not even a person who hates English Dubs at all. But this one ...yeah...Music's great too. And this short film was created and animated by Makoto Shinkai. Yes, THAT Makoto Shinkai. The same Makoto Shinkai behind the anime films 5 Centimeters per Second, The Garden of Words, Your Name, Weathering with You and Suzume. So, check this one out. It's just 24 minutes so if you're looking for something sweet to pass the time, here ya go. Voices of a Distant Star was written, directed and produced by Makoto Shinkai on his Power Mac G4 using LightWave, Adobe Photoshop 5.0, Adobe After Effects 4.1 and Commotion 3.1 DV software. I am not joking. He made this on his laptop which explains a few more janky visuals but overall, it's impressive for..you know...being made on a LAPTOP. You can find it on Crunchyroll.) (Notes: Bruh this is trippy but in a good way. a GREAT way actually. This show is actually amazing. A true gem and another banger from MADHOUSE. It was directed by Masaaki Yuasa. You may be familiar with his other work, Masaaki Yuasa is a Japanese director, screenwriter, and animator affiliated with Science SARU, a Japanese animation studio which he co-founded with producer Eunyoung Choi in 2013. Recognized for his idiosyncratic art style and directorial voice, Yuasa began his career as an animator on the landmark television series Chibi Maruko-chan (1990–1992) and Crayon Shin-chan (1992–present), before moving into directing with the feature film Mind Game (2004) and developing a cult appeal following.
Yuasa spent much of the 2000s and early 2010s working in television directing, helming a trio of series, Kemonozume (2006), Kaiba (2008), and The Tatami Galaxy (2010), before releasing the crowdfunded short film Kick-Heart (2013).

(Notes: This was one of those Netflix Originals that no one really brings up. It had mixed reviews but i think it was nice. And it's super short so a viewing isn't gonna hurt anyone. It definitely isn't perfect but i love the animation and art direction and i personally think the cast is very likeable. The story isn't overly complicated and it doesn't need to be. It's simple and a nice time passer. Despite its flaws, I'd recommend taking a look at it. I feel like it was kinda forgotten. It isn't the best but i think it's fun.) Everything was peaceful until Myoue and Koto suddenly vanished. Their three children are left to take care of the city, and Yakushimaru inherits Myoue's name and duties. Stranded in this alternate world, their problems only get worse when a young girl—also named Koto—crashes down from the sky and declares that she is also looking for the older Myoue and Koto. Armed with a giant hammer and two rowdy familiars, Koto just might be the key to releasing everyone from the eternal paper city.)

(Notes: Okay, this one is bizarre but I'd still call it a slept on hidden gem. How'd y'all miss this one? lmao. i digress. Another Toei Animation production. I think this show is pretty unique. And it's another short one to just pass the time with. It can be trippy and confusing but I can say i wasn't bored. It's a nice lighthearted one which is always nice to see. Check it out if you have the time to. Plus, the animation and designs are really great in my opinion. And i think there's alot more to this show under the surface. It makes me feel..homesick? idk how to explain it but there's something there, i know it. Also, why is this OP actually so good? i may just be a baby but something about the melody and the delivery of the singer made me tear up and i do not know why. It's probably because i know the context of the show so idk) Read Note

(Notes: Well, for one, no unnecessary romance for the most part so that's a relief. I hate forced romance/pairings. It's a surprisingly dark show with some good jokes and moments. I enjoyed it. And it is short. It doesn't overstay its welcome. Oh and this anime is by Studio Gainax. You know, Gainax is the anime studio behind Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL,Kare Kano(Which i recommended before), Top wo Nerae! Gunbuster(Which i also recommended) and Medaka Box. This is a short, sweet little show. If you have some free time, give it a watch. You might like it.)
