(Story: Tokiko Mima, nicknamed "Key," is a 17-year-old girl living in the Japanese countryside who, despite her human-like appearance, is a robot. When Key's grandfather Dr. Murao Mima passes away, he leaves her a dying message, telling her that she can become a real girl if she is able to make thirty thousand friends. Thus, Key moves from the quiet Mamio Valley to the busy streets of Tokyo, where she soon runs into her childhood friend Sakura Kuriyagawa.
Key quickly becomes enamored with idol singer Miho Utsuse and wonders if becoming a singer will allow her to make the amount of friends needed for her to become human. But Miho carries a ominous secret: she is connected to Jinsaku Ajou, an old rival of Dr. Mima trying to make new a breakthrough in robotic weaponry. (Notes: Rated TV-MA for a reason. But i think this is a solid one. Key is an endearing character. And if you know me, i have a bias towards older anime and their art and animation and nusic. It's just incomparable. There's some strangeness in this one but it's cool overall. The studio behind this one is Studio Pierrot. They're the same animation studio behind Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, Bleach, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, Black Clover, Tokyo Ghoul, Yona of the Dawn, Great Teacher Onizuka, Yu Yu Hakusho, Boruto, Beelzebub, Twin Star Exorcists, etc. You can find Key the Metal Idol on RetroCrush, Freevee, Amazon Prime Video, and Crunchyroll's premium subscription as far as i can tell.) (Story: It is the year 2046, Noboru Terao and Mikako Nagamine are close friends who will soon be graduating junior high school. But after an alien attack on humanity, Mikako is selected for the UN military space expedition set to retaliate against the aliens. Separated, Noboru and Mikako attempt to keep in touch by sending emails to each other with their cell phones. Yet as the expedition journeys farther from Earth, the time it takes for them to transmit and receive each other's messages increases substantially.
Hoshi no Koe revolves around the relationship between this couple as they try to stay connected despite the growing distance between them.

(Notes: Well, this is a short film. Not too long but i don't think it wastes the short time it's given. For how short it is, it is a little heartbreaker. Some CGI is outdated but other than that, it's not bad. The dub..isnt the best for this one. And I'm not even a person who hates English Dubs at all. But this one ...yeah...Music's great too. And this short film was created and animated by Makoto Shinkai. Yes, THAT Makoto Shinkai. The same Makoto Shinkai behind the anime films 5 Centimeters per Second, The Garden of Words, Your Name, Weathering with You and Suzume. So, check this one out. It's just 24 minutes so if you're looking for something sweet to pass the time, here ya go. Voices of a Distant Star was written, directed and produced by Makoto Shinkai on his Power Mac G4 using LightWave, Adobe Photoshop 5.0, Adobe After Effects 4.1 and Commotion 3.1 DV software. (Story: According to the theories of oneiromancy, dreams of dragons represent the struggle of losing yourself to your own anger. After being told that he lost his parents and memory in a strange accident, the waking world becomes another nightmare in itself. With this dream being his only memory, he has no choice but to be taken care of by his two strange guardians: the spunky and energetic maid Ginko, and a huge cat known only as "Sensei."
His new life is turned upside down when the denizens of Saromisaka City are beset by a teddy bear-shaped UFO. When military power proves to be ineffective, seven mysterious people rise up to fight off the monstrosity. (Notes: This one's pretty interesting and doesn't get talked about enough or isn't super well-known so yeah. And again, love love LOVE the retro anime art style and character designs and animation. Gunbuster was the directorial debut of Hideaki Anno, best known as the creator and director of Neon Genesis Evangelion. And the anime studio behind Gunbuster? Gainax. You know, the same studio behind Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, FLCL(Fooly Cooly; btw just watch the first season of FLCL the others aren't worth it), Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Ebichu, Re: Cutey Honey, etc..Also, there may be some flashing colors and lights in the actual show, just as a warning. They made one of my favorites Last Exile and its sequel series which I've already recommended, Afro Samurai, the original Hellsing, Rosario to Vampire(which i dont like but to each their own), Welcome to the N.H.K.,Red Garden which I've also recommended,etc. Id say Blue Submarine is okay for older audiences.
