MADE. IN. ABYSS. The world setup is cliché at first (Lil kid and her robo-friend goes on a journey to find her mum) but as you explore deeper the complexity of it's society and ecosystem will blow your minds. The plot is very well built and packs quite some surprising twists throughout the series, but the pacing can be pretty awkward at some parts. Most importantly DON'T be fooled by it's cover. The most attractive aspect of the series is how it can make you feel that the adventure is glimmering with happiness and hope, then plunge all that emotion into the abyss (see what i did there [厲害]

) This contradiction between the pure and moe protagonists and the cruel and unforgiving world will make you feel all the more immersed in this wonderful anime experience.

Btw there's also a phenomebal OST and a fluffy treasure [怪笑]

[I'd also classify this movie for mature audiences like 17+ so yeah.. that's just my personal opinion. I think it's officially like PG-13 but I'd personally say 17+, i was also told there was some religious references here but they flew over my head probably? so just thought that was important to mention; they probably arent super important]

(Story: The story focuses on an adventurer named Gokudo. Unlike most protagonists he is an antihero, willing to resort to violence to fulfill his agenda. He does not hesitate to abuse the needs of people, sell out his friends to save himself, run away from any dangers, or ditch others who helped him if he does not have any more interest in them. His life starts to change when he finds a magical Genie named Djinn who wants to grant him three wishes. While people would benefit from having three wishes, in his case it leads him to a lot of trouble, and it doesn't take long before he tries to escape from Djinn, and every other person he meets.
Other important characters are the Old Seer, who constantly appears out of nowhere, seemingly only to make Gokudo suffer more; Rubette La Lette, a noble girl with a tomboy attitude who sees Gokudo as a rival; and Prince, a mage much better at handling women than Gokudo will ever be.)
