Yesterday (5/20), Hakusensha announced that Kentaro Miura-sensei, the creator of Berserk, had passed away on 6 May 2021.
The sudden news blanketed international fans in deep sadness.
I am sure we will all miss him and his incredible creations.
Therefore, now it’s time for us to say our last thank you and let the world know about his contribution to the otaku world!

odin 2021-05-21 18:30 Farewell These 2 pages aren't necessarily as detailed or impactful as the rest of Berserk but they still mean a lot to me. Miura's ability to display such raw emotion in a world of endless horror and agony was just fascinating. Guts as a character is someone i cherish a lot and I admire Miura for creating such a badass morally grey protagonist who despite flinging around a slab of metal and slaughtering everything in his sight still manages to be sympathetic and caring. Guts' journey to overcome his trauma and find happiness will always inspire me to keep on pushing forward. Thank you for teaching me and many others that life is worth living. Goodbye, Miura.
