Azur Lane + Pokemon?
When Azur Lane first came out in China, it kind of set an example of what a good game with strong breeding elements should be. There have been games which tried to copy Azur Lane's success with similar elements, but seldom could make it as big as the original. The game we are going to talk about - Ark Order - is quite an exception.
Ark Order is a goddess-breeding turn-based RPG made by a different Chinese developer. After getting a concrete fanbase in China and some fame overseas, it was also published in Korea and Japan. If you wonder why, having the same breeding system as Azur Lane and the same battle system as Pokemon may help.
Breeding-wise, a character has so many aspects needed to be taken of: skills, training, evolution, breakthrough, etc. That sounds complex and grindy, but a character drop rate of 5%, which is a lot in gacha games, and cheap kakin options balance it out. The best of it all is the bonding and marriage element! Battle-wise, players and opponents take turn to perform actions based on character skills. Type is also a thing in this game, so make sure to collect all 7 types because resistance is gonna screw a team over at later stages.
Ark Order is a pretty decent combination of Azur Lane's breeding system and turn-based combat. Leave a comment once you try it out!
