*Desire Immortal Realm* is a humorous and lighthearted cultivation game set in a fictional world, breaking away from the seriousness of traditional cultivation games. Unlike the typical cultivation protagonist's extraordinary talent and meteoric rise, the protagonist of this game is just an ordinary office worker overwhelmed by overtime. His cultivation journey begins with an absurd and disastrous accident.

Day after day, the protagonist is trapped in endless overtime, working late into the night to meet deadlines and being subjected to his boss's manipulations are commonplace, leaving him utterly exhausted. One late night, taking advantage of the empty office, he secretly masturbates, but unexpectedly, his boss suddenly bursts in. The sudden shock causes him to die instantly from exhaustion, without even a chance to utter a complaint.

Upon waking again, the protagonist's soul had drifted to the underworld. Seeing the wandering ghosts, before he could even accept his sudden death, he was stopped by the kind-hearted Meng Po. Instead of offering him the Soup of Forgetfulness, Meng Po smiled and gave him a chance to "defy fate"—to introduce him to the patriarch of the Hehuan Sect's Flower Bud Sect, Lady Huarui, thus embarking on the path of cultivation and escaping his life as a corporate slave.
