Reverse 1999 Patch 3.2 (Carnival Patch!)

Carnival patch is always the best time to play this game, woohoo [開心]
The patch has already started since Jan 20th, I was only able to start some days ago because of the 13 GB update on mobile. Usually updates are only 2-3 GB, but it's bigger this time because there's a major engine update.

☔ Free random 6*
Right off the bat, they're giving a free random unowned 6*. If you're new to the game, I'd recommend to use the beginner selectors before using the random 6* to avoid getting a dupe so early in the game. Unless you want dupes then go ahead, try your luck and use the random 6*!

I got Melania. Pretty lucky, finally I got a decent Beast unit 🥳

10 pulls right off the bat, +30 free pulls daily

☔ Free battle pass + free skin
There's an extra battle pass for this patch where we get both free & paid rewards.

And on level 10, it gives a free 5* skin or a free regular 6* skin of your choice. Ofc I picked Shamane.

☔ Free 5* selector
You get this when login too. The better 5* are Name Day, Bkornblume, X, Yenisei, and Balloon Party. But as this is a team building game, if you love Druvis, Satsuki would be fun to be played with her so choose who you like anyway! Door + Necrologist team also seems fun. I personally chose Name Day.

Matilda, Lorelei, & Buddy are the actual best 5* to me, but they're not in this selector probably because you can get them outside of gacha. That's kinda goated to make good units free.

☔ FREE LOBBY UI SKIN
I didn't expect them to ever make one for event reward ("The Syndrome of Silence" one).. the first lobby UI skin was Assassin's creed Collab and it was in paid package. Like other UI related rewards, this one is probably limited time too.
I haven't done the event so here's the preview. Pretty cool, very Manus Vindictae.

☔ Limited chars on banner
The main appeal of Carnival patch! Non-limited chars usually join standard pool 3 months after debut. You can get limited chars only on these special banners. Currently it's the debut banner of a new limited unit Beryl (strong DPS but sadly only has 1 dedicated support rn/Isolde), and the second half banner is new non-limited Brume (extremely potent buffer + DPS, very flexible team).

Anyway there's still 35 days until Beryl's banner is over so still plenty of time

Unnecessary ramblings:
As my main target is Marsha (I need her for Sentinel, I have priority) and she is good with Beryl, I end up spending on Beryl instead of Brume. but both Beryl & Brume are very strong units, so getting both is actually the best. Nah who am I kidding, Brume's buff is absolutely insane... I'd pull her if Beryl's dupe wasn't that good (P1 for decreased Glow requirements, P2 for +1 selectable gem, both of these are so good)

☕ Last but not least, I just wanna say they really outdid themselves this time. The event story is definitely the best I've read so far from this game.
Sadly it's pretty relevant to the main story, so it's really much better if you're caught up with it. Otherwise, it's still kinda stand-alone, with new characters and settings.

Totally unlike the previous 2 world war themed events. Those 2 are still very nicely executed for a theme so heavy like that (WW1). Charon & his friend scene is soooooo well done.

I love mindscrew story like the current event too, and the cast. Felicianne is also such a fun NPC. I really like it when even NPC got that much personality. It's making the story more alive.
