Microsoft VS. Sony

Following the news that Microsoft shocked everyone three days ago by merging Activision Blizzard by acquisition and becoming the third-largest gaming company in the world, the stock price of Sony has fallen 10%. This move from Microsoft absolutely stirs up the intense competition between these two big heads.
Many analyses think that Microsoft will gradually overtake the position that Sony currently holds by keeping expanding its Xbox Gaming Pass subscriptions while utilizing the advantages of providing service on PCs. Some interesting discussions brought up the past competition between Netflix and Blockbuster. I do agree this is a kind of similar situation. Microsoft has been putting a lot of effort into their XGP by increasing the exclusive IPs on both Xbox and PC subscriptions while Sony is living off its relatively traditional console eco-system.
I've always been a PlayStation player until now but I personally will start doing some research about Xbox Game Pass or even the Xbox console itself as I've never used them. From what I heard, it actually has so many games on that platform. Apparently, the Cloud/Streaming tech is already trendy but it will become even more mainstream in the gaming industry once the metaverse concept finishes its building. What's your thought?
