【Study of Today】No! Go Away!!

Last note we covered the live action adaptations of movies and TV shows, but there is one type that almost none of us (Unless you live in Japan) ever watched, but always left us a huge impression just by the posters - The Live Action Stages![哇噻]

At the recent Jump Festa 2022, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen were looking forward to hear about season 2 of the animation, but they gave us something unexpected - the Live Action Stage.

The disappointment aside, more fans are worried about what the live action will do to present the characters on stage, especially when there is a guy who is Blindfolded.

Yes we are talking about you Gojo! You handsome charming bastard!

Live Action Stages have become more common in recent years, even being called 2.5 Dimensions. Although it is not fair for us to give comments since they are only available in Japan(Unlucky us), fans in Japan also do not care too much for the following reasons.

■1.The live action stages are always comedy materials to us because sometimes the visual presentations are just… WRONG.

I don’t know about you, but look at the stage casting of Yowamushi Pedal , Wow…

Characters have different hair colors, styles and eyes in anime are in order to make them more recognizable, and unlike cosplay, we need to see the actors acting in those ridiculous looks. The whole thing is just…NO!![no]

■2. If I need to use one thing to distinguish live action films and TV shows with stage, it must be the technical performances. Even non successful films and TV shows have the Post-production team to help make the visual more convincing

It is cool to see the stands in CG, but look at Josuke, my god, that truly is a weird hairstyle.(Incoming Crazy Diamond Alert💎)

However, live action stages lack the resources and are not able to use CGs, forcing them to be... “creative” when performing on stage, which can lead to good, or hilarious results.

Yowamushi Pedal did it again, if you try hard enough, you can ride bicycles with just the handle.(Probably not[汗顏])

Gundam also has their live action stage, but I guess mobile suits are too expensive, they fight in mobile wheelchairs instead.[委屈]

Despite the above comments, it is important to remember that most of the producers and actors of live action stages work very hard to entertain the audiences and their efforts should be respected. Most of the stages are available on CDs, but I am afraid the distances between 2 and 2.5 dimensions are too far that I can’t appreciate them.[暈]

Will you be interested in Live action stages? Let me know your thoughts!!
