Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Mugen Train Sets Milestone In Japan

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba anime movie that came out in 2020, Mugen Train, set another milestone that is going to be so hard to surpass in the near future. Until May 23, the movie has sold over 40 BILLION yen at the box office. This is the first film (not just an anime film) ever to top this number in Japan. Worldwide, the movie was the highest-grossing movie in 2020 and was also the first-ever non-Hollywood or non-American movie to achieve that since the beginning of the cinema. 

From my point of view, this is just insane. Who could've thought that an anime movie could be such a huge success？It led to a trend and culture-wise it has attracted more foreign people to the world of Japanese anime/manga just like Pokemon did 20 years ago. Have you watched it？Are you looking forward to the season 2 anime？
